About White Canvas, and our Support of the Project
About White Canvas, and our Support of the Project.
Rather than through politics or economics, but through a mutual love of culture, ECF and White Canvas have become fans and friends.
How and why we support artists active in the Eastern cultural sphere Art and the arts enrich people's lives, add value to manufacturing, and are a source of a strong new economy.
With the vision of “cultivating a sense of trust that transcends regions and borders, and elevating Eastern culture”, our foundation has been involved in projects such as regional revitalization and supporting young artists from the Eastern cultural sphere.
The “Eastern culture” we are talking about is not a culture where the word “gods” is used in everyday life and where it is taught that “there is only one God”.
We believe that here we find a cultural region that understands the essence of things that Buddha felt.
I feel that a new era began in 2021, an era that is not only about physical and functional richness, but one in which design and art are ubiquitous: “mind and spirit enriched through human creativity”.
One of the activities we support, White Canvas, started in 2020 in three countries: Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. In 2021, three more countries were added: Bhutan, Laos, and the Maldives.
White Canvas discovers artists from these countries who, in spite of their outstanding talent, don’t have many opportunities to show their work.
An innovative new system is utilized in which winning works are attached to a blockchain (certificate with IC tag provided by “Startbahn” Cert.), and a fixed percentage of sales is returned to the artist each time the work is sold and resold.

Awards ceremonies were held on 01/12/2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, and on 01/18 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

We have received support from the crowdfunding site Ready For twice in the past; thanks to a mutual love of culture, ECF and Ready For have become fans and friends.

From this point on, we will be disseminating art from the eastern region in multiple languages so that more people from various countries can feel a closer connection; we will begin selling art in earnest to international visitors and residents.
